On to Derring Do!

'

Past the Town of Tribulation & Straight on to Derring Do' is what the author calls her, 'accidental' book. As all of the royalties for 'Twisted Tales' will be donated to the charity, Macmillan Cancer Support for 2016, it was important to keep costs as low as possible during the book's preparation for publication. To achieve this, a number of people gave their time and employed their skills, free of charge. The cover, for example was designed by Rebecca Jackson of Feathertree. One of the proof readers was the author's sister, who reminded her that when they were children, she would be told to entertain her by telling stories. As soon as one was finished, she would say, 'tell me another', so the author decided to write the book as a birthday present for her. The dedication in the front includes the author's granddaughter who, fifty years later, makes the same request to, 'tell me another'.

The story is suitable for children aged nine and above. An eighty-one year old recently read it and gave glowing feedback, so there is no upper age limit!

The book tells the story of Megan Waterfield's summer and the unusual friends she meets in the Old Harbour. Each one has his or her battle to fight, but by working together they face even greater challenges, as they go 'Past the Town of Tribulation & Straight on to Derring Do'.
